What to expect
Not far away, we will drive to Amboseli National Park, a smaller reserve but with just as much wildlife. The second-best place for Africa photographic safaris. Here, the families of elephants are so many, giving the Amboseli the name ‘The Land of the Giants’. And another thing you will notice is the towering Africa’s tallest peak, Mt. Kilimanjaro which stands like a giant. You may find hyena, fox, jackal, monkey and all kinds of birdlife in the park’s marshes including cheetahs and lions.
Tsavo West will capture your attention with its green hills and springs filled with hippos and crocodiles – ancient lava flows, scenic sweeping hills, magical baobab trees, and the deep green of Mzima Springs. Be on the look for Nile crocodiles and hippo in this unexpected oasis.
The big game is all here including many endangered black rhinos, living protected in the Ngulia Sanctuary. Here, you’ll also find baboon, monkey, and the smaller bushbaby and dik-dik, and lots of wildlife not found in most Kenya parks.
We’ll then proceed to Taita Hills Sanctuary, home to more than 50 species of mammals, a small game area which offers plenty of wildlife and an abundance of birdlife for you to enjoy. You’ll stay either Taita Hills Safari Resort & SPA or Salt Lick Safari Lodge – your choice. Both parks are a visual destination that promises you a busy 4-day Africa safari that you’ll be talking about for years.
